The ANU Tax Clinic provides free and confidential tax education and information to unrepresented taxpayers.
The friendly, student-led clinic provides clients with information and guidance under the supervision of experienced tax practitioners.
Our Tax for Beginners Workshops are available to High Schools and Colleges (focusing on Years 11, 12 and working Year 10 students). Schools who held a workshop in 2023 are welcome to hold further workshops in 2024.
This year, we are able to offer these workshops from March to end-October. We hope that this timing will fit in with your scheduling.
We can offer your students short workshops on:
- how to apply for a Tax File Number (relevant for students without a TFN)
- using MyGov and linking to the ATO
- filing non-lodgement advice (for those under the threshold)
- lodging simple tax returns.
These workshops are free and will be held via zoom from March 2024. They take one hour or less.
Students can also follow up with private appointments with an ANU tax student and tax a practitioner to discuss individual issues.
