Biography

Richard Zhu is a Lecturer in the Research School of Accounting at the Australian National University. He received his PhD in Accounting from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2024. Prior to joining ANU in July 2026, he was an Assistant Professor at NEOMA Business School in France. His research exlpores how information, disclosure, regulation, and external economic forces affect firms, managers, stakeholders, and capital markets. His work has been published in leading international journals, including the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Management and Organization Review, and Asia Pacific Journal of Management.
